Building Fortitude
What is Fortitude Movement & Strength?
Fortitude is a sports and performance focused physical therapy practice reimagined to better serve our community. What exactly does a physical therapist do though? According to the American Physical Therapy Association, a physical therapist can be defined as the following:
Physical therapists are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits.
Confused? That’s ok, everyone else is too. There are plenty of “jack-of-all” physical therapists and practices to be found. Let it be crystal clear that here at Fortitude, we specialize in working with an active population. Our background is in sports medicine and strength & conditioning. If you train, run, lift, compete, or just play for fun then we work with people just like YOU, because you are an athlete. If you’re an athlete, chances are you’re reading this because you aren’t satisfied with the prior care you’ve received, been told to stop doing the things you love, or maybe the providers you’ve worked with in the past just don’t understand the importance of why you enjoy the activities that you do.
At Fortitude, we believe the benefits of the pursuit of athletics, training, and physical voluntary hardship far outweigh the minimal risks involved. Fortitude specializes in guiding folks back to the things they love, not dissuading people from making healthy choices. If this sounds like you, give us a call and we can talk about if our evidence-based, individualized approach is the right fit for you.
